Reception children and staff successfully visited Birmingham Town Hall on Friday 6th January 2017, to watch the stage production of ‘What the Ladybird Heard’.
Great excitement could be sensed as the children arrived at school, ready to embark on the final experience to complete their challenge of ‘how to retell a story’.
While there, the children saw and heard, first hand, how a story is told. Everyone wondered how this story would be told – would it be as good as reception children telling Miss Lelli and Nursery children the story of the Little Red Hen? Or the story of the Christmas Tree? Would it be as good as when reception children told the Christmas Story to their parents through song?
All the children could do, was to watch and see – and that is exactly what they did! Teachers and children alike sat back and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The children behaved impeccably (and so did the staff). They couldn’t wait to get back to school to tell Mrs Mapp and their families all about how fantastic the show actually was!
The children thanked the coach drivers for making sure they got there and back safely, the teachers for looking after them and their parents for helping to support their learning.
A GREAT day was had by all!
