As we begin another academic year, maintaining regular attendance is high on our list of priorities. Attendance steadily rose last year and children were rewarded with many treats. One child from each key stage who achieved 100% attendance was chosen at random and given £5.00 to spend at ASDA. At the end of the academic year, during our special awards assembly, a child from Foundation Stage was picked at random to receive a bumper Fun Box and a child each from Key stages 1 and 2 both received a portable DVD player. Every child who achieved 100% attendance last year was treated to an end of term ‘fun day’ out at Jitterbugs Party World in Blackheath. The 28 children and staff had a GREAT day out at Jitterbugs, there were lots of activities for the children to take part in and each child was provided with a hot meal and an ice-cream before returning to school.
With a school target of 95% we aim to smash last year’s attendance figures; we are well on our way! So far already this academic year, four classes had achieved 100% attendance by the end of the first full week at school – congratulations to classes 1S, 6A, 6M and 6W, for their treats two classes decided to smash a piñata full of goodies and two classes chose to watch a film with chocolate, popcorn and juice. Congratulations also go to class 5B for achieving 100% attendance week ending 20/09/13, they also chose a piñata filled with goodies and week ending 27/09/13, 6A achieved 100% attendance and chose to have a picnic – Congratulations to everyone!
Keep up the good work, you could be our next weekly £5.00 ASDA prize winner; you could also be on your way to winning a super end of year key stage prize and booking yourself a place on our end of year outing!
