The Department for Education have published the 2012 Performance Tables. For the second year running, achievement at the Academy is above national averages.
In 2012, 85% of our pupils in Year 6 achieved a Level 4 or above in both English and mathematics compared with 79% nationally. This is the 4th year running that our results have increased, going from 48% in 2009 to this year’s 85%. I’m sure you will agree that this a fantastic achievement by the children and they deserve much credit.
We are also very proud of the fact that 100% of our pupils made at least expected progress from Year 2 to Year 6. This means that every single child who has been at the Academy since the infants (KS1) has achieved well and gone on to make good progress!
Even more importantly – pupils that leave Victoria Park Academy are exceptionally well placed to go on to High School and achieve at least 5 A*- C GCSEs before going on to A-levels and university!
Whatever people may say, the future for our next generation is looking very bright in Smethwick. We look forward to following the progress of our ex-pupils as they go on to even greater things…
