Autumn has certainly arrived in Forest School!

Again, the leaves are giving us a fabulous colour chart to work from for our art activities. Most of the little creatures are getting ready to bed down for the long winter months ahead.
Over the next weeks the children in years 5 and 6 will be looking at animal habitats and food chains. They will be exploring and investigating how animals choose their habitats and the importance of food chains and seeing how all of this links in with local environments.

To encourage living things to make homes in our Forest School we shall be taking part in the RSPB give nature a home project. For more information about this, please visit www.rspb.org.uk/givenatureahome.

In year 2, Forest School activities are being linked to the various topics that the children are working on in their classrooms. The children have already linked their story of Rama and Sita to Where the Wild things Are; the usual Forest School activities will also take place. The children will be exploring the forest floor for mini beasts and making a bug hotel to keep them warm and safe through the winter months. The winter need not be long and boring when you have plenty to keep you occupied!
