Yes, it’s that time of year again when we start taking out our winter woollies and begin thinking about the Christmas festivities which are fast approaching us. Here at Victoria Park it’s no exception!
We have a packed programme of Christmas celebrations starting with our ‘Everybody Write Day’ on Tuesday 10th December. Father Christmas will be visiting our Forest School area where, throughout the day, all of the children will be visiting his cosy grotto and every child will be given a free small gift. Lots of writing opportunities are planned around this theme and an exciting and fun day has been planned!
School Christmas Dinner, Thursday 12th December. Those children having school meals will have the choice of turkey with all the trimmings (vegetarian option available).
EYFS will be performing their version of ‘It’s a Baby!’ for parents at 10.00am and 2.00pm on Friday 13th December. Parents are welcome by ticket only – tickets available from Nursery and Reception staff.
Years 1 and 2 will be performing their modern day version of the traditional Christmas nativity entitled ‘The Midwife Crisis’ on Tuesday 17th December. Key Stage 1 parents are invited to attend at 9.30am in the school hall.
Our Christmas Carol Concert will take place in the school hall on Wednesday 18th December at 9.30am – Key Stage 2 parents are welcome to attend.
Our annual Christmas Fair will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th December from 2.00pm until 4.00pm. There will be an opportunity for families to purchase a variety of unique Enterprise sales. The children have been working incredibly hard to research ideas of items to make and sell at the fair. They have been designing goods and packages to make their items interesting and appealing. Please come along and support the children and see what wonderful unique items can be purchased to help raise extra funds for our school. Children can be collected at 2.00pm (please see class letters).
On Thursday 19th December the children will be treated to a magical Christmas Pantomime. A production of Beauty and the Beast will be performed in the school hall at 9.30am. (Oh no it won’t, Oh yes it will!)
It’s Party time! On the afternoon of Thursday 19th December the children will have their class parties. Please support the class teachers in sending in donations of food and drink nearer to the date of the party. Children can bring in their own party clothes to change into after lunch.
Friday 20th December is our ‘Crazy Jumper Day‘. Children can wear a Christmas jumper or a bright coloured jumper and donate 50p which will be donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice.
School finishes at 12.00 noon – please collect your child on time.
Look out for letters home providing more details of all of the Christmas events.
