Well what a busy December we’ve had here at VPA! A Spice Traveller comes visiting on his camel named Humphrey, we are all ‘spiced’ up with our Everybody Write Day and week long spice related activities; culminating in a spectacular celebration assembly for Governors, parents and visitors.
Preparations for our Christmas Fair Enterprise Sale were brought to a close with the sale of spiced Paprika and Cinnamon flavoured popcorn from EYFS, Gingerbread Men biscuits from Year 1, spiced Nutmeg biscuits from Year 2, Ginger and Cinnamon Christmas biscuits from Year 3, ‘Bones and Bolts’ Christmas Crackers from Year 4, spiced potpourri decorative packets from Year 5 and spicy smelling Victorian soaps from Year 6.
Our budding actors, actresses, singers and dancers from EYFS and KS1 entertained us with two superbly put together modern day Nativities while KS2 children performed Christmas carols and songs at our Carol concert. The whole school had a fabulous treat when Little English Theatre Company performed their rendition of ‘A Christmas Carol’. The screams of laughter and excitement could be heard as far away as West Bromwich!
The children (and teachers) let their hair down on party day with lots of fun, games, dancing and party food! Our annual visit to Santa’s Grotto took place in school, allowing children to have a chat with the magical ‘man’ himself! Lots of smiley faces came away with a small chocolate gift.
Our Christmas activities have drawn to a close as we have celebrated many achievements this half term. During our special Zone Award Celebration Assembly today, pupils have been recognised for being good role models and achieving well in lessons and for achieving 100% attendance individually and as a class.
We look forward to more successes in 2015.
Thank you for your continued support.
