Our School Council have been very busy organising a school non-uniform day to help raise funds for this worthy cause.
On Friday 23rd October the whole school is invited to wear jeans or ‘home clothes’ and to donate 50p to do so. All of the money donated will be sent to the charity ‘Jeans for Genes’ which is a charity that helps to change the lives of thousands of children affected by genetic disorders. The organisation provides vital support and equipment to enable the charity to offer children the opportunity to meet others affected by the same conditions as themselves.
Every year 30,000 children are born with a genetic disorder. One in 25 children are affected – that is the equivalent to one child in every classroom! This ‘Jeans for Genes day’ will be a great opportunity for us at Victoria Park Academy to help make a difference by bringing in our donations to raise money for a very worthy cause.
Thank you for your generosity and kind support.
