It’s that time of year again and there’s a definite buzz in the air! The week commencing Monday 15th September, staff and children from Victoria Park Primary Academy will embark on their fourth annual, free whole school ‘Big Adventure’.
Children will be taken on an adventure to Edgmond Hall Outdoor Education Centre, based in Shropshire. Teachers and Centre staff have been planning many varied and exciting activities for the children to take part in which are all based around the different year group’s NICER Challenges.
On Monday 15th September Years 5 and 6 will depart for Edgmond Hall, Tuesday 16th September will be the turn of Years 3 and 4, Years 1 and 2 will depart for the Centre on Wednesday 17th September and Reception children will travel to Shropshire on Thursday 18th September. On each of these days the children will be leaving school by coach at 9.00am and returning to school by 4.00pm; except for children in reception classes who will arrive back at school for their normal collection time. Children are NOT required to wear their normal school uniform as the activities will be outdoors. It is suggested however, that children wear sensible, comfortable clothing with trainers or wellington boots if the weather is or has been wet and they will need a waterproof coat in case of rain. The children will be required to bring a packed lunch (no glass bottles) for children who are entitled to free school meals, a packed lunch will be provided.
We are all looking forward to our ‘Big Adventure’ and getting our teeth stuck in to all of our outdoor activities and challenges.
