As part of our ‘World Book Day’ activities a group of children visited Waterstones book store situated at Birmingham University.
On Wednesday 5th March, 12 children ranging from Years 1 to 6, travelled by school minibus to Waterstones book store in Edgbaston. They arrived mid morning and were greeted by staff who took time to show them around the different sections of the store. The children were given information on how important reading is and that it is also fun and interesting.
There were a number of books made available for the children to exchange their ‘World Book Day’ vouchers for. They spent some time deciding which book they wanted to choose. At the end of their visit the children were given a ‘goody bag’ each and were served by the cashier before they made their way back to school.
