Recently, Year 2 travelled to the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre to watch an amazing performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. To say it was incredible would be an understatement! The children were enthralled throughout the entire performance and, if the truth be known, the adults were too (Oh no they weren’t, oh yes they were!) Without giving too much away, the performance was excellent and appealed to all ages; it would certainly make a fantastic day out for any family!
From the experience of their visit, Year 2 are now sculpting their own learning and gathering various aspects of knowledge, information and understanding to inspire areas of their current NICER topic ‘Up, Up and Away.’
Since the trip the children have grown their own beanstalks, used their CORT 1 skills to help to rewrite the classic fairy tale (from the giant’s perspective) and have even created an advert for the cow!
Their day out will definitely be one to remember!
