One of Year 3’s NICER curriculum challenges has been to create their very own pop-up museum! As part of this challenge staff and children visited Birmingham Museum back in February, on a fact finding mission. Their visit gave them an insight into how a museum is run.
The Year 3 children have worked extremely hard researching and creating items to display in their pop-up museum. The launch took place today and was officially opened by Victoria Park’s CEO, Mr a Morrish. The museum is situated in the new ‘Terminal’ and will be open from Thursday 16th April from 9.00am until 4.00pm on Monday 20th April.
Visitors will be able to view and handle a range of artefacts both loaned to the school and made by our very own Yr 3 pupils. The artefacts are from the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Tudors, Romans and Vikings!
A gift shop has also been set up by the children, where a range of gifts can be purchased including postcards of the children themselves – these will make GREAT souvenirs of the children’s participation, hard work and dedication!
Parents are welcome from 3.15pm to 4.00pm Thursday, Friday and Monday – the children and staff look forward to seeing you there!
Please come and visit the children and remember to sign the visitors’ book before you leave.
