Visiting a football ground is one of Year 4’s Vicki 50’s. It also links in very well to ‘Bolts ‘n’ Bones’ which is their current creative topic and to ‘Moving and Growing’ this being their current science topic.
On Thursday 12th December, Year 4 staff and children were taken on a 90 minute tour around the West Bromwich Albion football stadium. They were shown old photographs, trophies, the players changing and fitness rooms and they were then taken onto the pitch.
During this time everyone learned about the history behind the local football club; in particular about how footballers train and exercise and how they have to eat a healthy balanced diet to remain fit and well and match-fit.
