It is that time of year again, where the whole school embark on our Big Adventure. This year, each class will undertake a City Adventure.

The week beginning Monday 12th September, at various times throughout the week, different year groups will be venturing across the city to explore and will be treated to a special meal in a restaurant from a different country. Some children will get the opportunity to undertake research of their foreign country at the Birmingham Central library in Centenary Square.

Years 4 and 6 will be venturing out on Monday 19th September. Year 4 will be visiting the El Borracho de Oro restaurant in Harborne to try out, first hand, some Spanish food and to find out about the Spanish culture. Year 6 will be arriving at Cafe Rouge in the Mailbox, Birmingham to experience some French cuisine – ooh la la!

On Tuesday, Year 3 will be taking a trip to Ming Moon Chinese restaurant in Hurst Street, Birmingham. While Year 5, visit Regency Wharf, Broad Street to sample Australian food at the Walkabout Inn; they are sure to have a G’day mate!

Year 1 will take part in an African Outdoor Adventure on Wednesday with lots of fun and games in store on the field at VPA.

Pushkar Indian restaurant on Broad Street, Birmingham will welcome Year 2 on Thursday, as they tuck into some delightful Punjabi and North Indian dishes.

Lots of experiences will be gained by these visits and the children will certainly obtain a wealth of knowledge when taking on the task of comparing similarities and differences between the country they have visited and that of the UK. This will then lead them into preparing cultural dishes for VPA’s annual Bake Off!

Coaches will be departing the school at 9:15am promptly each day and returning to school for the usual pick up time of 3:15pm. Children are required to wear full school uniform with a waterproof raincoat and sensible shoes.

If you have any queries about any aspects of the visits, please see your child’s class teacher.
