“He’s behind you!”

“Oh no he isn’t!”

“Oh yes he is!”

On Wednesday 16th January, Year 2 children and staff travelled to the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton to watch the festive pantomine, Jack and the Beanstalk.

The children were full of excitement and anticipation as they made their way to Wolverhampton by coach. It was evident that many children had never been to the theatre before!

When the children arrived at the theatre, the ushers showed them to their seats. The orchestra was playing, the lights were bright and there was a real sense of anticipation. Shortly after that, there was a very loud drum roll which made everyone jump out of their seats. The lights began to fade and the curtains on stage began to open. The pantomime was about to begin!

There was a lot of fun to be had as the audience watched: Jack, Dame Trot, Princess Apricot, Fairy Fortune, Keith Harris and Orville and ‘Day-Zee’ the cow singing, dancing, acting and laughing their way across the stage.

At the interval the children (and staff) were treated to an ice cream, there was just enough time to eat up before the second half began. The time seemed to whizz by as the grand finale drew the pantomime to a close. There was a big lavish wedding and of course a very, very happy ending!

A great time was had by all! What a wonderful way to start the Year 2013.
