Reception classes RM and RH have both recently visited Bayton CE Primary School and Ninevah Ridge Farm; both situated in a small village in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. The visit was arranged as part of their new NICER curriculum topic and covers aspects of their VICI 50’s; ‘to visit another school and feed animals’ Reception classes set off on their coach journey to meet children and staff at Bayton.

The children from both schools met and played together while comparing how different the two schools are. Bayton is a much smaller school compared to VPA; with one class per year group and is situated in the middle of the beautiful countryside!

After a short walk, the children arrived at Ninevah Ridge Farm where they saw: rabbits, a degu, pigs, ponies and goats. Not forgetting Alfie the dog. They were able to feed and stroke the animals and then they played together in the farm’s sensory music garden.

During RM’s visit, the staff at Ninevah Ridge Farm were presented with a donation of £40 which was raised by all of the reception children from their pop-up café NICER enterprise. The money will be used to help other children to experience the opportunity of visiting the farm; who can’t otherwise afford to. After a long day full of fun and excitement, the children and staff said their goodbyes and made their way back to school.

Thank you Bayton and Ninevah Ridge for making us all feel so welcome!
