Thursday 5th February, saw the opportunity for Year 3 to spend the day at Birmingham Museum. The children and teachers were incredibly excited about the day ahead, particularly because the transport to the museum was a double decker coach! The children were incredibly well behaved during the day, acting in a sensible and mature manner throughout the museum. The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed looking at and learning about all of the Greek artefacts!

The children were in for a treat as they were also able to explore the rest of the museum! Year 3 particularly enjoyed looking at the Staffordshire Hoard as well as the war exhibition! The visit to the museum was part of Year 3’s NICER topic for this half term, ‘A Day at the Museum’.

Year 3 have also been given the challenge of creating their own pop-up museum; the children were hopeful that the trip would inspire them, and it certainly did! They came back to school bursting with interesting facts and ideas. As a result, they can’t wait to start planning their own museum. They are sure this will be the BEST pop-up museum to date! Everyone who attended the trip agreed that this was a fantastic day out for both the children and staff!

Be sure to look out around school for posters advertising this event!
