How we teach: All schools within the Victoria Academies Trust teach the full range of the National Curriculum. At Victoria Park we take a thematic approach, making links across subjects, and into English and reading where we can. 

Each term, year groups will complete a Challenge Pack where teaching is mapped to build upon prior learning and can support wider understanding. 

Key texts may be selected that enhance a specific feature of the Challenge Pack, or may be chosen so that children are exposed to a broad cannon of literature and stories whilst with us.  

Some of our Challenge Packs enable different year groups to work together to produce a joint outcome, either a performance of an opportunity to demonstrate their learning with a purposeful audience. Other packs may challenge children to demonstrate their new understanding in a piece of extended writing that answers our tricky ‘killer questions’.
